Hide-Covered Coracles

We are making and selling Boyne style coracles, based on the design that has been refined over the years by the famous coracle maker Peter Faulkener, who has passed on his skills to Guy. The locally-sourced cow hide is from the last oak bark tannery in England, which is based just a few miles from the Woodland Workshop. The coracles are made from local hazel and willow coppice, with an oak seat. The hand-made paddle is from ash and is made entirely by hand with a drawknife and spokeshave.
