We are thrilled to announce that our latest creation in the woods, The Woodsman's Treehouse, has been shortlisted for a RIBA South West award!
The winners are to be announced on 23rd May. Our fingers are firmly crossed in the meantime ...
There are photos of all the projects shortlisted here -
and this web site also has photos and the details too -
Talking of The Woodsman's Treehouse, we've found it is predominantly being booked to celebrate those very special occasions: honeymoons, anniversaries, big birthdays and similar.
While this is rather lovely - for us as well as, we hope, for our guests - dates for special occasions do tend to be organised quite a long way in advance. In response to this, we've now opened our booking through to spring 2019. This means you can plan ahead with peace of mind!
Given the Treehouse's popularity, do please secure your special dates as soon as you can. We ask for just a 25% deposit on booking, with the balance due eight weeks prior to arrival. Click here for details and dates:
Romance In The Air
Of course, an engagement is a special occasion! Along with several other guests over the years, we would like to offer our huge congratulations to Kate and Sophie who recently chose their third visit to Crafty Camping get engaged.
What's more, we are doubly delighted that they have already booked their honeymoon in the treehouse next year. That really is a truly romantic tale.
Six Years Of Luxury!
We can hardly believe it ourselves: we are now into our sixth year of offering luxury glamping here in our woods.
As one of the pioneers in the glamping business, we have watched many other glamping sites pop up in fields on farms up and down the country. Despite the increased competition, we do strongly feel that being in our unique woodland, coupled with all our accommodation being generously spread out to ensure privacy, ensures glamping with us is something special.
Add in the fact that all our accommodation is within individually hand-crafted spaces, garnish with luxury touches ranging from electric blankets to a sauna - and we hope the complete mix will continue to be prove an excellent recipe for perfect breaks.

Keeping High Standards
The down side of creating our magical world in the woods is that it's a harsh environment for canvas - particularly under the oak trees.
In practice, this means our maintenance time and costs are for far more than an off-the-shelf yurt or flysheet-free bell tent in a field.
Naturally, we allow for this and to that end we have just re-roofed the canvas yurts and the flysheets on all of our bell tents. All are looking brand new again and very smart for the start of our busy season. Furthermore, we have replaced the timber floors that they all stand on, along with the yurt matting. It should all be good for another five years of service under the trees - and the work and expenses involved are a very worthwhile part of providing a thoroughly enjoyable and unique glamping experience.
Spooning Success ...
As many of you will know, Adam is one of the team here at Crafty Camping, and we're pleased to be able to report that his spoon carving skills are being ever more widely recognised, both nationally and internationally. He has recently won both First Place in the Knife Finish Spoon contest and the prestigious overall 'Barry Plant Trophy' at the famous Bodgers Ball. We can only offer huge congratulations from us all.
... And Spooning Pleasure
Adam's spoon carving courses continue to prove - justly - popular. While many glamping guests enjoy the peace and tranquility of the woods without taking a course, I would always urge guests to give it a try. A course with Adam is an opportunity to learn this fantastic skill from a fine exponent of the craft and skilled teacher - a rare combination.

Adam's spoons are for sale in our shop but if you need one before your next stay in the woods with us, then his new website is the place to go:
