Our Picture Competition Winner

Our thanks to all our guests who sent in their pictures of their stay in the woods. There have been some really great pictures to choose from. It took us a lot of deliberation before deciding on a winner. Finally though, we opted for Amy H's 'Snoozing in the Hammock' photo - and the £150 gift voucher is on its way.

A hammock in the woods is a common feature to all of our yurts and bell tents, our shepherd's hut and our treehouse. There's a lot to enjoy here in the woods, but it's hard to beat lying back in comfort, listening to birdsong on a sunny day.

Don't forget you can now enter our new competition - all the details are on the same page!

Awards And Grand Designs

We are very pleased to be able to announce that The Woodsman's Treehouse was awarded a RIBA South West award as well as the RIBA South West Small Project of the Year. Our huge thanks to Keith and his team at BEaM, to our fantastic in-house team and to all the local craftsmen who, all together, made this project happen. It is a credit to everyone involved and we are all over the moon.

Looking Up

As a result, The Woodsman's Treehouse is now in the running for the RIBA & Grand Designs 'House of the Year', which is being filmed over the summer. The results will be aired in a four part series on Channel Four in the autumn. It is very exciting and pleasing that our treehouse is up against the best in the country.

The Return Of The Chair Course

With the glamping site's refurbishment work now all completed, we have a little more time to look at the courses we offer. And as a direct result, we're very happy to be able to announce that we are going to be running our five-day chair making course again.

This is the course that was featured in the BBC Mastercrafts series with Monty Don, and we're re-introducing it very much in response to demand. This year's course will be in the relatively quiet season in November, and we hope that people who've expressed an interest will be able to take up a place. You don't have to be a woodworking expert - it's a course suitable for novices too.
