Gifts That Are A Pleasure To Give

If you're looking for a gift that's sure to be welcomed we don't think you can do better than giving one of our gift vouchers.

Crafty Camping Gift Vouchers

Over the years, they have always proved very popular. They can be used for a glamping or treehouse holiday, or for one of our courses. (Adam's spoon carving courses are particularly popular at the moment.) Whatever you pick, it's all totally hassle free!

- where there are also full details.

If you'd like a hand written certificate then just say so and we will post it along with some postcards - and in a plain envelope so as to not spoil the surprise.

Certificates can be ordered 24/7 and typically we get quite a few late on Christmas Eve, which is absolutely fine! (In these instances the recipient can use the certificate code to book themselves in online on our booking system, for a stay or course, whenever suits them.)

Whatever the weather holds, you will be warm and toasty with cosy wood burning stoves, electric blankets and heated towel rails, not to mention the sauna and piping hot tree showers - which are always popular come rain or shine. It has to be a wonderful way to start the New Year relaxed and invigorated.

Autumn In The Woods

We have been making the most of the warm autumn weather and getting on with some of our winter projects during the quieter months. One of my favourites is always cutting back the Gunnera plants and stacking the huge leaves to protect against frost. We have also been burying some of our water supplies following a few burst pipes during the 'Beast from the East' earlier in the year.

Looking back, it really has been quite a year including both the extraordinary snow and the amazingly long-lasting heatwave. We're delighted that our guests were able to make the most of both experiences here in the woods.

Don't Mention Brexit!

If, like me and pretty well everyone I know, you are fed up with Brexit then come and join us for a digital switch off.

We make a point not to mention current affairs or breaking news to our guests and many prefer to switch off all together when staying with us. (Though, that said, wi-fi and a fast 4G connection is available if you need it.)

I don't think anyone knows what will happen in the coming weeks or months. But if there's one thing I am absolutely certain about, it's that some time away from it all down here in the woods is a very healthy bit of escapism. I often think relaxing in peace surrounded by nature is unbeatable.

Whether you are booking a winter retreat or for next spring and summer, you can be sure that you won't see or hear a television, and mobile connectivity is entirely your choice ...

Grand Designs House Of The Year 2019

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since the last RIBA/Grand Designs awards on Channel 4. It's great to see so many amazing and original buildings in this year's awards and show.

Many guest have asked if our episode for the Woodsman's Treehouse is still available and after a bit of digging we have found it on All4 catchup here:

Grand Designs/RIBA House Of The Year. Series 3 Episode 3.

Winter work in the woods

We have been amazed at how much coverage we have had as a result of this, other architectural awards and press mentions. We've recently updated our press page for those that are interested here:

Amongst the coverage, just last week we were delighted to be featured in Red Bull's selection of the top 10 UK treehouses:

With December now well underway, we'd also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a great New Year, whatever 2019 may bring in the way of snow, heatwaves and politics. We hope that we'll see you down here in the woods before too long.

All the best
